Wordmunity is a word search game for phones. We keep what we collect to what the game needs to work. This page explains what that is.
No accounts
You don't sign up. We never ask for your email address, phone number, contacts, photos or location. Instead, the app creates a random player ID and a secret token on your phone, and uses them to show the server that it's you.
What we collect
- The name you type in. Other players in your game see it. In Free Hunt, it also appears on public leaderboards, so use a nickname if you'd rather not show your real name.
- Game activity. This includes the rooms you join, the words you find and when, your scores, and your picks as a watcher. In Free Hunt it also includes the boards you've played, your best scores and your Inky points. We use this to run games, rank players and spot cheating.
- Technical logs. When your phone talks to our server, the hosting service records things like the time, your IP address and whether the request worked. We use these only to keep the game running and fix problems.
Where it's stored
The game server and database run on Microsoft Azure in Canada. The website is served by Cloudflare. The website uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers.
How long we keep it
- Game Night rooms are deleted automatically once nobody has used them for 24 hours.
- Free Hunt scores and leaderboard entries are kept while Free Hunt runs, so the leaderboards stay complete.
- Technical logs are deleted automatically within 90 days.
Sharing
We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers. When you invite friends, the invite goes through the app you choose, such as WhatsApp, and we never see who you send it to.
Ads
Wordmunity doesn't show ads yet. When it does, ads will come from an ad network that may use your phone's advertising ID. We'll update this page before that happens, and the app will ask for any permission the law requires.
Children
Wordmunity isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
To delete your Free Hunt record and remove your name from the leaderboards, email us. Include the name you play under and roughly when you last played. Uninstalling the app removes your player ID and token from your phone.
